According to the law, foreign applicants need to have a citizenship certificate to obtain a passport. To get this document in an accelerated time frame, it is necessary to invest in the country's economy and comply with residency requirements. Investment should be made in one of the options: business, real estate, investment fund or charitable fund. The minimum investment amount depends on the chosen option and ranges from € 500,000 to € 2,000,000. Applicants are issued a temporary residence permit with the right to receive permanent residence permit and citizenship subsequently. In order to become eligible for citizenship and passport, the applicant has to reside in the country for 3 years with permanent residence permit status. The passport is issued to individuals over the age of 18 for a period of 10 years, under 18 years - for 5 years, and may be renewed.
Both standard or 66-page passports are available for Irish citizens. The cost and time for the issuance of passport depend on the chosen option and the method of submitting the application.
